We arrived at the school and immediately noticed the students’ rush for interviews. Kedar stood out with his appealing personality. During the interview, Kedar mentioned that he came with his aunt. His aunt looked frail but gentle. Both Kedar and his aunt showed remarkable simplicity and humility.

Kedar started sharing his story. We learned that he has lived with his aunt since childhood, while his parents work as farm labourers in Karnataka. He has a passion for art, particularly recycling the waste in the form of art. His grandfather hopes that he’ll become a high-ranking officer. It is the goal Kedar also strives for. He is intelligent and he has an ability to discuss any topic deeply, as we observed during the interview.

Kedar’s aunt then explained that she raises five girls and Kedar in a three-room house, with her husband being the sole earner. Kedar’s aunt is a cancer patient, but she manages the household with great care. Despite her health issues, her love for Kedar and her desire to support his education brought her to the interview.

When they sat next to each other, it felt like a mother and son were sitting together. Such was the affection between them. It was evident during our conversation that Kedar’s aunt genuinely wished for him to achieve brilliant success in the field of art. I truly admire the ambition shared by Kedar and his aunt. Considering his entire economic and educational background, I firmly believe that he certainly deserves this fellowship.
